Since 2015, six segments of the Berlin Wall have stood at the warehouse of the numismatic wholesale company Mietens & Partner. Here, they symbolize change, freedom, and the overcoming of borders.
The alien on one of the segments symbolizes the monstrous idea of using such a wall to separate people, families, and an entire country from one another. “It is precisely against this historical backdrop that the motif takes on special symbolic significance for us,” say the organizers.
