On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Wall, the Axel Springer SE donated one segment of the Berlin Wall to each federal state. In Baden-Wuerttemberg the segment was erected in front of the State Parliament in Stuttgart on November 9, 2009. The segment was designed by Christoph Grohmann, a Berlin based graffiti artist.
