Location: Clausewitz Barracks
2 segments
In autumn 1990, the command of the demolition of the inner-German border fortifications changed from the National People’s Army to the Bundeswehr. As a result, Wall memorials were erected at numerous military bases in Germany. So in Nienburg.
In 1991, the then command procured four Berlin Wall segments. Two of them remained as a memorial in the Clausewitz Barracks, the other were donated to the City of Nienburg.
Today, the Clausewitz Barracks are home to the Zentrum für Zivil-Militärische Zusammenarbeit der Bundeswehr (ZentrZMZBw) among others.
