A segment of the Berlin Wall has stood in the customer car park of a supermarket since the early 1990s. Globus Holding GmbH & Co KG writes about this in a press release:
The piece of Berlin Wall has actually been standing since shortly after reunification, on the initiative of the shop manager at the time, who wanted to show his solidarity with the people of Berlin and the joy of reunification. GLOBUS also opened several stores in East Germany as a result of reunification, so the spirit of optimism in the country was also very tangible in the company at the time.
