The four occupying powers of Germany were constantly present in Berlin during the Cold War. With the end of this period, their task have become redundant, the forces were withdrawn, sites were closed.
When the French troops left, they were given a Wall segment by the Berlin Senate as departing gift. This one made some detours and finally got a permanent place in the tank museum, the Musée des blindés, in the exhibition area on the Warsaw Pact.
