The former military airfield Soesterberg of the Netherlands Air Force is located near Utrecht/Amsterdam. During the Cold War the airfield was used by the United States Airforces in Europe under the name Soesterberg Air Base. Flight operations were discontinued in 2008. In autumn 2014 the new National Military Museum was opened there.
The collections from the former Military Aviation Museum and the Army Museum in Delft are now summarized In the new building. The Wall segment was also previously in Delft and has found a new place in front of the huge glass façade facing the airfield.
