Washington, D.C. – Ronald Reagan Building

Berlin Wall in Washington D.C.

Location: Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center

1 segment

The Reagan Building, located in the direct vicinity of the White House and the Capitol, is home to several US government agencies and international companies. The complex was opened in 1998. For the inauguration of the building, the operating company was given a Wall segment by the Daimler-Benz AG. This segment is from an inner-city section of the Berlin Wall near the Brandenburg Gate, where on June 12, 1987, President Reagan issued his challenge:

Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!
