Location: new town hall

The three wall segments are on permanent loan from Jülich building contractor and honorary citizen Heinrich August Schüssler. Initially, the segments stood somewhat apart and unnoticed on the edge of the Schlossplatz. At the beginning of 2015, they were placed in front of the new town hall of the historic fortress and modern research city.
Mayor Axel Fuchs: “The history of the Berlin Wall and the division of Germany cannot simply be wiped away and we must remember what people can do to each other.”
The design was carried out with the support of the Berlin Wall Foundation; the Jülich meeting place is based on the preserved strip of the Wall in Berlin-Bernau.
