Berlin Wall in Hückeswagen

Location: Bahnhofsplatz

1 segment

A segment of the Berlin Wall was set up in Hueckeswagen on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the fall of the Wall  – as a memorial and symbol for the inhuman division of Germany. The idea to set up a memorial arose when a delegation from Hueckeswagen visited Koenigs-Wusterhausen, an affiliated community in the former GDR, where the segment derived from. The then mayor Norbert Jörgens and his predecessor Manfred Vesper provided decisive support.
